Limiting waste from mending falls

Pieces of net or rope (< 5mm) are one of the most common types of waste found at sea or on beaches.

When repairing trawl nets, there are several tricks that can be used to prevent scraps from ending up in the sea.

At the quayside, for example, trawl nets can be repaired on a tarpaulin.
On board, the Sacabout, a pouch that attaches to the belt, can be used to collect scraps of net cut during repairs.
